A conversation about aesthetics, society, and the physical body as essential parts of design practice and social transformation. Design is considered here as a constantly-evolving, bodily process, and a fresh perspective is offered on prototyping, theory, collective learning, and the possibilities of education in the future.

Ricardo Dutra

Social systems designer and action researcher working in diverse global contexts, including Brazil, Australia, India, Mexico and the United States. In his work at the Presencing Institute, he leads the SPT research initiative, developing action research protocols and tools, to investigate social field shifts and systemic change. He's also currently a part of the SPT Advanced Program faculty, and coordinates the launch of the Social Arts Studio Residency program in Mexico. Ricardo holds a MFA in Transdisciplinary Design from Parsons School of Design, New York, and is currently a PhD candidate at Monash Art, Design and Architecture, Melbourne.

Uzyel Karp, Centro de diseño, cine y televisión

MBA in Design, Typography and Printing at the Basel School of Design, he began his professional practice in Switzerland. In Mexico, he founded the “Taller de Comunicación Gráfica,” which has specialised in the realisation of cultural projects, He is also actively involved in project development, research and design, his editorial projects have been recognised by multiple institutions across the world. Karp has also participated in social projects encouraging people to read through illustrated books that involve poets and illustrators. He has taught classes and workshops in bachelor’s and master’s degrees at private and public universities and designed several university-level program curriculums in the field of visual communications. Since its foundation he is the chair of the Visual Communication programs at CENTRO.
